The Lounge

Once again we start with pictures from the original sales literature.  This shows marks in the carpet and wires hanging out of walls everywhere from electrical cabling for TV and speakers.

I had the cabling removed very early on and then had the joy of yet more sanding and filling.

My carpenter also put up battens for  curtain poles (seriously they had no curtains in this room even though in winter is is overlooked by the nearby footpath).  So wood filling skills were implemented and then sanding and priming.  The painting of the walls in this room is a pain with all the cross beams.  I got through it though and the room already feels warmer.

At the other end of the room I had the carpenter install shelves in the cabinets as these were open from the base units to the ceiling so a pointless waste of space.  Of course yet more sanding and priming and painting ensued.

And finally I have curtains up and furniture in and pictures on the wall.  This room is finished.

And so we move on to the master bedroom (link)
