Dining Room

This is what it looked like before I started.  Forgot to take starting pictures so these are the only ones from the sales literature.

And so I started stripping the wallpaper.  So glad I decided to only do two walls!!  The plaster came off in huge chunks to the extent I was back to the wooden lintel above the door (1940s property).  The video shows all the fill I had to do.

And so I sanded, primed and painted the cabinets and then painted the walls that were not to be papered.

I ordered and painted picture rail and my carpenter put this up for me as we had to negotiate around nails in the wall that could not be banged in or pulled out.

I got the worlds slowest decorator in.  Nice chap, good quality work but at the end of day one he had only hung 3 (yes 3) strips of lining paper in the dining room.

Anyway the room is finally finished and ready for furnishing.  The chandelier from mum and dad's house is now taking pride of place over a dining table I purchased from a friend that is downsizing.

And finally the room is finished and furnished fully.  I think it looks lovely and I have lots of family photos up.  No curtains yet as cannot afford them for such a large expanse.

I then continued to work on the lounge (link).
